PRESENTATION OF THE PROJECT IN LA CALDERA (C/TORRENT D'EN VIDALET, 43 - BCN)

SATURDAY THE 10TH AND SUNDAY THE 11TH DECEMBER , 20:00 –
FREE ENTRY

This is the second year that La Poderosa takes part in a social project.

Tu Cuerpo/El mío (Your Body /Mine) is a poetical and political action as well as a specific initiative for social integration. The project brings together three women choreographers and immigrant working women from different cultures. This encounter will end up in the practice of a stage work.

The first stage of the work took place between the 25th and the 30th July in La Poderosa.
The public presentation took place on the 10th and 11th December in La Caldera (c/Torrent d'en Vidalet, 43 - BCN).

Tu Cuerpo/El mío is a project conceived by Karin Elmore and, in this occasion, in collaboration between La Caldera, La Oveja Negra and La Poderosa. Previously the project was presented in Lima (Perú) and in Madrid.

PREVIOUS PROJECTS

In 2010 we finally fulfilled a wish: working with dance creation as a means for social integration.

The project "Dance As A Therapy For Personal And Social Integration: The Group As A Tool For Inclusion” built a bridge between dance professionals from La Poderosa and the Dance and Movement Therapy Group of Gramenet Social Club (Fundació Funamment), based in Santa Coloma de Gramenet.

Our purpose with this collaboration is to bring people with severe mental disorders closer to creation and arts languages by means of movement and dance. This will provide them an opportunity to get involved in a creative process and enjoy leisure and social activities which will enable them to be part of an environment of affection and creation, facilitating social inclusion.
